In short
HHPlayer has no accounts, ads or tracking, and collects no personal data. The only thing the apps send us is one anonymous message on first launch, so we can count installs (from version 1.0.2). Your playlists, logins and what you watch stay on your device.
What stays on your device
To work, the app stores on your device only:
- the playlist links and Xtream Codes logins you add;
- the channel lists and TV guide downloaded from those providers;
- your favorites, watch progress, last channel and audio/subtitle language choices.
This data is never sent to us. On Android it is excluded from device backups. Deleting a playlist in the app removes its data; uninstalling the app removes everything.
The install count
The first time HHPlayer opens after being installed (version 1.0.2 and later), it sends one message to
hhplayer.app containing only:
- the platform (for example
samsung,android-tvormac); - the app version (for example
1.0.2).
It contains no device or advertising ID, no account, no playlist, provider, channel or viewing information, and is never sent again on that installation. If it fails, it is not retried.
Our server keeps only a count per day, platform, version and country. The country is the two-letter code our network provider (Cloudflare) derives from where the request comes from. Your IP address is not stored: it is held in memory for up to a minute to limit abuse, then discarded.
To avoid the message, block hhplayer.app on your network or device; the app works the same without it.
This website and downloads
When you download the Mac, Windows, Linux or Android app from this site, we count the download the same way: per day, platform, version and country code, without storing your IP address.
The apps downloaded from this site (Mac, Windows, Linux, and the Android APK from version 1.0.7) check for updates: when you choose Check for updates, and at most once a day when the app starts. Each check only reads a small file from this site that lists the newest version; it sends nothing about you, your device or what you watch, and it isn't counted. The Android app downloads an update only when you choose Update. Apps installed from an app store don't check: the store updates them. The site uses no cookies and no analytics scripts. Requests pass through Cloudflare, which processes them under its own privacy policy.
Your providers
The app connects directly from your device to the providers you add: to download playlists and guides, show channel logos and play streams. Those providers receive the requests your device makes, as with any player, under their own privacy policies. We are not involved in those connections.
Content
HHPlayer does not include, sell or provide any channels, streams or other content.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
